The fourth show launches this Sunday at 7pm, but don’t forget numbers one, two and three remain available – so hours to catch up with if you haven’t listened yet!
This week we’re featuring the Edinburgh quartet Wayward Jane, who have a new album, Neptune, containing an abundance of songs and tunes performed in their favoured old-time, Appalachian style.
The featured archive album, as previously promised, pays tribute to Dolores Keane, who passed away in March. One of Ireland’s finest singers, we opted for the 2000 album Night Owl.
And the featured songwriter celebrates his 80th birthday this Sunday. Many happy returns to Donovan Leitch, son of Maryhill, Glasgow.
Hope you can listen, and do please keep adding your comments here on the website.

Dear Iain
Such a joy to have you back after your moorings were so thoughtlessly severed. You could have drifted into oblivion, but somehow we knew that wouldn’t be the case! I started listening in 2007 and your eclectic taste in music has enriched by CD collection and depleted my wallet! I would like to suggest a few songs with a maritime theme you might like to include at some point:
1. Seascape by Amazing Blondel (beautiful and ethereal) from the album England (never heard this on the radio at all)
2. Around the Wild Cape Horn by Ralph McTell from the album Somewhere Down the Road
3. When The Ship Comes In by the Noble Laureate Mr. Zimmerman
and, maybe the Hesperus would like to sail with the “Caribbean Wind” in its sails rather than the “Hurricane” !
Thank you for reading my message and all the best with the new show.

What a wonderful show (here via Kim Edgar‘s newsletter which kindly provided the link). Loved discovering new (to me) artists to explore.
