As something new for the new show, we thought we’d encourage featured artists either to submit voice notes or to (unluckily for them) meet up with the Kaiser and put up with his prompts. And over the weeks we’ve really come to enjoy hearing artists that we admire talking about their work. It feels like we get to know them that bit better.
So in the coming show, we’re featuring two current releases – Wild Convenor by M G Boulter and Jenny Sturgeon and The War Is Over: The Songs of Phil Ochs Vol 2 by Phil Odgers with John Kettle – and we’ll hear from M G, Jenny and Phil in their own words and voices.
Phil Odgers’ album follows the feature we did in Episode 2, when we played a handful of Phil Ochs songs and described some of his Scottish connections, this year being the 50th anniversary of his passing.
