Coming to you at 7pm on Sunday, the 25th episode – our silver jubilee!
The featured artists are a group from Glasgow called The Black Denims, who just launched a new set of songs at the Glasgow Americana festival. They’re a large band including many of our most talented folk and jazz players, all coming together to bring to life the spirited songs of their leader Scott McPherson. The new release is Grateful For Small Mercies – Act III, and it follows, as you might imagine, Acts I and II. We’ll play three songs, from one volume or another.
The featured archive album marks a 55th anniversary. It’s JJ Cale‘s debut LP, Naturally, one of those debuts that features a handful of iconic songs that you can’t quite imagine hearing all together for the first time. But if you were tuned into JJ and his Tulsa Sound in 1971, you would have done. We’ll play three of them.
And there’ll be much more. In fact, tune in if you’re looking to be amused. We’ll say no more just now. Join us back here on the website from 7pm on Sunday.
