This week’s features as follows…
The featured artist is Adam Beattie, from Inverurie in Aberdeenshire, though for some considerable time a resident of London. His new album, Home Fires Burning, is very much concerned with thoughts and memories of Scotland, family and home.
“Much missed” is an overused phrase, but in the case of both the featured archive album artist and the featured songwriter, it’s appropriate. They should both have stayed with us a lot longer and given us more music to enjoy.
The featured archive album is Kite by Kirsty MacColl, featuring some of her best and sharpest songwriting. The featured songwriter is maybe not as well known as he should be, but we’ll try and make a case by playing a handful of his compositions: David Olney, who died, plying his trade, in 2020.

As ever, you can listen here on the website anytime from 7pm on Sunday.
