The featured artist this week is a fresh voice: a young singer called Mairi McGillivray, who sings mostly in Gaelic, and on her debut album, Mo Thir, has chosen songs related to Islay, the island from which she came.
The featured archive album, His Master’s Choice, is a very pleasing collection of Richard Thompson songs, sympathetically sung by Dave Burland, with RT himself among the backing musicians.
And the featured artist is Warren Zevon, who may have been hard to get along with, but he left us with a brilliant and unique catalogue of songs.
Plus we’ll have three quite different poems, and not all read by Iain.
